I think this little cartoon explains itself...
(Scroll to the bottom for the "Finding the Funny" link-up!

(This is pretty much how it happens every night.  Does this look familiar to anybody?)

Finding the Funny

Last week, Anna and I joined together to host our weekly link-up called "Finding the Funny".  Over 75 entries were submitted and all of them made us smile!  I found myself laughing out loud over and over.  The link-up gave me a great opportunity to find lots of new funny bloggers.  The post you choose to share with us can be new or old.  Even if you are not a "humor blogger", everyone has a funny story to share.  So, don't be intimidated!  Below are the stories that were shared last week that got the most "hits".  Check 'em out!

Yes. This is me. Every night. Except last night as this was going on I actually wrote a blog post in my head about it. Off topic question: Can we link up old funny posts?

That is me on the nights that I actually get in the bed at the same time. The secret is to go to bed before he does. That or do like I do and take a freakin Xanax so that you pass out!

Roles are reversed in my household. My girl always beats me to dreamland.

I'm just glad she doesn't snore...

My husband prefers I go to bed first so that I'm well asleep by the time he gets into bed. He says it's easier for him to fall asleep if I already am. And I kind of agree that I fall asleep easier without him there. Weird, hu?

My husband will tell you this happens every night but that I am the snorer.

I don't believe him and kinda think he is a dick for telling me that I snore.

Oh, I so identify with this.

This happens quite a bit at our house, only in my story I roll him over until he falls out of bed.

I swear my Hubby falls asleep before his head even hits the pillows most nights! I on the other hand, lay there. Occasionally I do fall asleep first. Ok, thats only because he is still downstairs playing PS# for hours after I have long ago gone to bed.

Hey, you just made a cartoon of my life! How'd you do that?

Nope. I'm asleep first since I turn into a pumpkin promptly at 10 p.m. Plus, if he falls asleep first, it takes me FOREVER to follow him into dreamland because he has Restless Leg Syndrome and knees me in the hiney every 10 seconds. Apparently this doesn't bother me if I'm asleep, but it's not conducive to falling asleep.

Loved it, hilarious! And how did you know that my wife snores so badly?!!

Yvonne said...

Yes, minus the little man with yellow hair. Ha! Every night, I go through this!

Off to stalk all these blogs!

Okay, so I pulled up the comments section and then got distracted and then when I came back I totally forgot that I pulled it up originally because I had a real comment! I know *exactly* what you mean about the desperate race for sleep with a snorer! Lindsey snores terribly and sometimes Skye does too and oh my goodness do I try and fall asleep first when we're sleeping in the same room. When Lindsey and I shared a room in college I would purposefully find out when she was going to bed and go to sleep at least 10 minutes before. Sadly, it almost never worked. Freaking snorers, they never have problems falling asleep.

My husband can basically fall asleep as soon as his head hits the pillow...so not fair!

Yup...that looks very familiar. And it's happening a lot more lately. You'd think the roles would be reversed, but I don't snore (at least i've never been told I do) and my wife hasn't until recently.

I'll have to check out some of those humor blogs after I catch up on my blogroll. Linkups are great, I'd like to track down more of them but they always seem to be in categories I don't fit into (women, dating, comedy, talented writers. haha)

Yup. He always falls asleep first. always. Then he snores. And the dog under the bed snores. makes me crazy. ahhhhhhh! :)

An oh too familiar scene here. I cringe when he says he's heading to bed before me. If it gets bad enough I usually head to the spare bedroom or sometimes he does - if I poke him enough times :)

Seriously, was that a cartoon you stole of my life? I'm always the last one to fall asleep. My husband shuts down quicker than a two-dollar iPhone. I'm banished to Stare At the Ceiling Land. Btw, laughed out loud when I read your comment on my blog. I agree. Who do we think we are, trying to blog and read blogs? I feel ya. My kids are literature assassins as well..

I admit, I almost choked on my drink as I read through the cartoons. That was a perfect representation of our house. I love my husband, but it annoys me to no end his head can hit the pillow and pass out in a nanosecond.

I found you on MBC and love your blog! Will be following! If you find a moment I'd love for you to visit mine and say hi!
